Default aftermarket intake manifold. To buy or not to buy? NE BENEFITS?

I will be boosting my 93EG B16a2 very soon... but i am wondering wheter an aftermarket induction kit is worth purchasing.

I have heard that they can improve performance by 15bhp at the wheels!!! is this true?

Anyone else have aftermarket ones? if so please tell me how it performs and where and how much it costs.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

The edelbrock one with the shorter runners and the larger plenum is the one that is good for boosting apparently.

It sucks. There are dyno's that prove it produces less power than a stock IM.

For the B16, honestly, there isn't anything worthwhile on the market yet.

I've always heard Skunk2 or OEM Type R are about the best. Don't take my word for it though.

They are but the cost isn't worth it considering a Skunk 2 is basically a ported Type R and a Type R is a ported B16.

Edelbrock is working on a N/A IM for the B series. No ETA though. I will say their N/A IM for the D series did add 5whp from 5500 to 6800 on the stock engine.

Oh word. If you're going for a sleepy NA approach, it is definately a must.

i live across the pond in the UK... If you all say i can put the type r intake manifold on the b16a2 engine would it be worth purchasing one?
Plus when you say type r... can you please give me some numbers or info on that as we have so many type r's over here.

I think it's like $650 with a TB. Check on Ebay.

For the Type R I guess I mean CTR or ITR. I guess I'm honestly not knowledgeable enough here.

I paid alot less then that for my pro series intake manifold and 68 mm throttle body. I think i paid something like $450 shipped.
