HELP stock radio for 2000 honda civic ex
okay i know someone has the answer for this. besides unplugging the battery on the car, is there another way to enter the code on teh stock cd player on a 2000 honda civic. here is the situation. my aunt had the battery changed and it naturally caused the stock radio to go into the mode where u have to enter a code after the battery has been reconnected. i wasn't around so they started pushing buttons and caused the error msg. now they cant put in the code. i advised them that the code is on the inside of the glove compartment but they told me it wont accept it and keeps saying error... since im over 500 miles away so i cant try anything.... any ideas!!!???
Won't the radio go "bad" if they enter the code wrong three times? If it hasn't gone bad, just tell your Aunt to call or go to the local dealership. They will ask the registration and they will look up the radio code for you.
Unplug the negative battery terminal and wait 30 seconds or so. The radio will reset into "safe mode" so you can re-enter the code. I had to do this once when i was working on the car too late to call the dealership and get my 5 digits... lots of time spent figuring it out though lol...
