I still say no, there going to teach you the basics which you already know. I would take a class that is specifically for tig, or mig, or even arc.
i took a class. only once a week. i already knew how to mig. but really, everyone does. I learned stick, and we mainly focused on that, with a little tig at the end. I got real good at stick, but you rarely use it in the automotive field

3 1/2 years of full-time classes at a local community college. About 75% of the coursework was hands-on while the other 25% was spent in the classroom (main teacher is the President of the AWS

I bought a MIG to try and teach myself and get familiar with it, then I enrolled in a couple classes for oxy/acy and plasma cutting, Shielded Metal Arc 'stick', MIG, and TIG.
I learned ARC in highschool.. Then got tested at a local college for my CWB certificate in Flat position...
