I finally had my friend/ minor mechanic drive my car to understand what my transmission has been doing. I have an auto h22a and when i first start it in the morning the car will down shift perfectly, but the longer i drive it the worse the downshifting gets. He said that when we first drove it it was downshifting 2 gears then after it was warmed up it only wanted to downshift one gear. After i drive my car for more than about 25 min it downshifts once, sorta bogs down then trys to downshift, it feels like it is going to downshift but then upshifts again right away it never locks into the lower gear, my RPM's just go up for a second. Any thoughts?

Chances are that the tranny is taking a dump. The Autotranny for the Lude is known to need replacing. Good luck i hope that you still have a warrenty.

 

I have searched, and just had the tranny rebuilt. Before it never would downshift, and after the transmission was rebuilt it still wouldn't downshift- then all of a sudden it starts doing what i described earlier.

 

If you just had it rebuilt then it should be under warranty and should have downshifted when you got it back. I would go back to the shop that did the work.
