I just thought id throw this out there since I am really tired of seeing it everywhere on H-T.
First off.. heres the seats in question:


Those are mine. I bought them in 1999 for $160 for the pair from a well known auto dismantler in the 626 area.

So, dont take me wrong, I am not trying to step on anyones toes here.. I am just trying to keep the misinformed informed, and bust the hustlers bubble that build up these parts as "super rare 25th anniversary seats and only XX ammount were made so buy them now at this jacked up price".

Plain and simple, yes.. they are rarer that the standard eg seats that everyone has seen, but they are not impossible to find since they were available in not only the jdm market, but also the european, australian, and south pacific markets. I am not sure about the Canadian market.

In the jdm market, they were available in All of the 91.5-95 eg bodied civics, but more specifically the SiR-S models with black interior. I have not done the research for the other markets yet. As a side note, I bought my matching long armrest w/ OEM cd changer from a 92 Civic with the same interior from Ireland.

So that all being said, I introduce a 5th generation OEM Civic parts catalog from Japan, for, as you guessed it.. all of the 91.5-95 honda civic hatchbacks. The print date on my book was 2.20.2001.

Now after all of this.. with the "25th anniversary" seats as they are called... has anyone ever bothered to think about what year the ACTUAL 25th anniversary of the Honda Civic is???
Ill give you a hint..
Its not anywhere between 91.5-95.

Thats right, kids.. the Civics debutant year was 1973. therefore making the 25th anniversary 1998 or at best released in 1997 trim.

glad someone took the time to tell people. i was way too lazy to do so..

the only other rare parts as far as seats go has to do with the rear seat headrest, that came on the eg4 and eg5 hatches, and were an optional item. and ive only seen them on the green hatches that came with green interior.

also another rare interior option was with the rear fold down rear seats, but without the gathers optional speaker system. weird looking..

I've got these seats too in my EG6. They come in EG6's that were made after April (i think) 1994 when all eg's got revised interior. Check japanese auctions for jdm eg6's that are before and after 1994, those before will have the single pole headrest seats, those after will have the updated seats.

here are mine in my 95 EG6.



Dunno where you guys heard about 25th anniversary edition civics. It's 20th and 30th anniversary editions in the UK and Japan.

My mate has a 20th anniversasy JDM EG5 Si, its the only eg which comes with the jdm DOHC "ZC" engine with a hydro tranny, its got 20th aniversary stickers on the side and a special key which has 20th anniversay edition civic on it. I'll try find some pics of it

Also the newer EP3 Civic Type R's in the UK got 300 (100 in each colour: red, black & silver) 30th anniversary editions in 2003 They got a few more special bits and bobs like DC5 red recaro's and some other stuff. Dont know if they got a special key though.
