Default 15b or d16z6 camshaft

does anybody know witch camshaft is more agressive... i know this has been covered before but ive never heard anybody say that they swaped cams from either motor an seen results... i have the d15b its wired obd0 for till i can get everything i need to run obd1 and hook up vtec but it doesint pulll anywhere near as hard as my old d16a6 in my civic hatch...

anybody swaped and seen results or know why my basicaly stock a6 pulled harder than my d15b... they both have the same mods i/h/e i checked the compression in my d15b cuz i thought it might be a realated problem but its good 180 175 185 180

it depends witch d15 u have cux the jdm d15b7 is a sohc vtec motor with a 2 stage vtec, over all the d15 b7 cam would be the better one but it all depends what combo u want, i hav a jdm sohc zc swap and im doing a mini me swap on it ima putting in the d16z6 head on there, so like i siad it depends what u want to run

its a jdm d15b the d15b7 is not a jdm motor its a usdm motor and i could be wrong but i think the d15b7 with the 2 stage vtec motor is just an emisssions motor that makes no power from what i hear... that is why im trying to figure out why a stock a6 would crush this stock d15b under the same condition and in the same car

p.s. good luck with your build up

cause its a emissions motor like you said. the vx motor (which i beleive is the one you are talking about ) has vtec but doesnt mean its quick. its just there to help keep the power band up since its such a low hp motor. even the few civics that are running on natural gas have vtec motors but nothing you would wanna swap into our car.

The VX motor is meant for fuel economy. The 3-stage VTEC system is just to give the motor more high output power. A stock D16a6 in the same car would beat it in performance.

Get the D16z6 Camshaft from Zex. Its the 59300 and it does not require you to upgrade the valvetrain unless you want to rev pass the RPM cutout on the P28 ecu.
