I will soon be buying a set of extra rim and tires, one of which will be for auto-x use. I will most likely go with Rota Slipstreams or something similar. Now here is the question, which rim should I use for auto-x and which for the street? I like the looks of both, but which will hold up better? Thanks.
It depends. If you have not done any other mods, I would use the stock wheels for autox and run in DS. If there are already mods done that would take you out of stock, I would use the aftermarket rims for autox b/c the will probably be wider and maybe a little lighter. The wider wheels would be good for STX.
you could always get a set of 94-95 mazda millenia rims, i hear they work really well for an extra set of race rims, supposed to be pretty light
this is good info, I am looking for rims also. i know there is a group buy for slipstreams on groupbuy.com right now, been thinking about it.
If you plan on staying in STX, get 15x7" rims. (15x7.5" is do-able, but will look funny on street tires).
Or, you can go the cheap route of buying Millenia rims for ~$200 (15x6"... DStock allowed). This is the route that I've gone and it has worked perfectly for me. Of course, one of these days I'll pick up a nice lightweight set in 15x7" though. 15x7" + 205/15/15 Azenis or A032R would be nice.

Like the others said. If you plan on competing in STX, wider rims would be okay. But for DS, get the stock wheels with some Azenis' then later on slap some victoracers on em.
