!!Check out this Turbo Sohc!!
Well I have been out of the Honda Scene for some time, Its been about 2 1/2 years since I have even tinkered with one. Though recently A local neighborhood kid asked me if I could help him Make his car faster as it was part of his High School project. I decided for his Budget ($2,000) that Boosting his stock engine (99 EX) would be the best bet.
The Setup
Spoolin Performance Manifold, Down pipe, Intercooler Piping, Dump Tube
Garret T3 "Super 60" turbo
Spoolin performance Oil line kit
Blitz BOV
MCO Engineering Greddy to Blitz BOV adapter plate
No Cat
Vortech SMFU
Blox Missing link
Tial 38mm WG
Sunpro Boost Gauge ($14.99 hehe)
Ebay Intercooler (3.5 inchs thick)
Slim Fans (EBAY)
I am Very happy with the fitment of the Spoolin Perfomance Parts, They fit great and Look even better! I had so much fun I think the bug has bit me agian! grrr
Sooo... Over all the Car Pulls pretty good for only running it off the WG Spring (7psi)
Any comments? Suggestions?

Not a bad Setup for a High Schooler! haha

Been there.. already blew one up hehe (unhealthy engine from the beginning). Was 16 when I first completed it and got it tuned. Now 17, and will have a built LS-T pushing 300+WHP in a month or two. Only cars that came close to my last setup were a 240 w/ SR20DET, and a LT1 Camaro. Car ran 13.5@106 at a local drag strip on Toyo Proxes4. I must say.. it does feel nice to say that you have the fastest car in the school.. especially when the teachers don't believe you because it's a Honduh!
to all the young guys........just be carefull. i have lost several freinds to street racing and what not. sure its cool to say you have the fastest car at school. time slips dont lie. take it to the track
we had a customer who did a turbo install for his senior project too....i wish i had that option when i was in school

Im 18 now but was 17 when I completed my project. Built b18b with sc61, took me a year to pay for it all, paid for by myself of course. I dont have any dyno #'s or track times yet, but I raced a local Ls1 that runs 12.8's and took him by a car length and a 02 cobra with bolt ons by about 4-5 consistently. Nothing else has come close. Im happy with it. I wish it counted for school though. All work was done by me including motor build, install, and tune.
Just curios why is your fmu on the feed side of your fuel line it should be on the return side of the rail to be able to raise fuel pressure under boost and give your engine some more fuel.
get a chipped ecu from mtber and it will be perfect!

He is right, the FMU needs to go AFTER the stock or aftermarket 1 to 1 FPR.

Heh that's my plan. Sucks though cause I waited till my senior year to start investing and I've had a liking for cars for quite a while. A bunch of ******* ricers popped up lately and now its my drive to have a faster car than all of them. Not to mention I have the know-how and the drive to build **** myself and own them with my home built ****. I'm going to be so happy when its done. I can beat the **** their parents bought them.

well he just needs ecu chipping and some good injectors. he has an FMIC if you didnt see.
but everything looks good.. check out my new cnc fmic piping kit for EG's

I used compressed air as a type of mock setup, The SFMU rasies fuel pressure when Pressure was added, The fuel pressure was around 40-45 in vacume (-22) and when we added 7psi to the smfu the fuel pressure would go to 85. So I dont belive its setup up wrong, and either way it works! Perhaps you could explain how I would add the SMFU after the FPR?

Haha.. I did not spend much more for this setup and it has alot more potential. Shitty FMU? Please do some more research before you talk ****.

The way you have the fmu it will show higher fuel presure at the fuel filter but you are not truely seeing it once it leaves the fmu and goes to the fuel rail. My fmu setup back in the day on my sohc was running 120+ psi at the rail on 7 psi witha greddy kit and the motor would still go lean from time to time
