ive searched and searched but cant find anything to help. vtec just wont engage ,all that hapens is it clicks louder than hell. ive done the oil presssure thing ive tryed using my vafc to engage it , cleaned the filter,changed the sylaniod,checked all the wiring, but befor i got a chipped ecu it did the same thing ,acept it through a cel 21 after a quick run. right now with the chipped ecu im getting no cels at all so do u guys have any ideas? i was also wondering if it mit need a valve adjustment could that cause it not to engage?

did you mess with the rocker assembly at all. do you know that the solenoid that you used is good? What's your oil pressure at? Any dings in the oil pan.

 

yes the nod is good and i do have a small dent in the oil pan but its not near the pickup or the baffling

 

check your oil pressre?

well if you are getting correct oil pressure, solenoid clicks over, oil gets to the rocker assembly, and rocker assembly wasn't tampered with vtec should be engaging. You might not feel it since in a single cam, or it isn't working, which means you got issue with one of the things that were listed. Check them again.

 

well the reason i sayed something about the valve adjustment is because i was watching the guy do it and he only used the feeler gauge on like 2 valves,he said

I don't quite undertand what you are saying, but that guy is full of ****. you do valve adjustment and set the lash by feel of the drag on the feeler gauge.


Vavle adjustment has to be so bad for the vtec not to engage, it must sound like a diesel, to do that.
