96 4dr dx accord 143k miles. mods are prothane motor mount inserts and k sport coilovers. noise is coming frmo the frnt of the car, a loud squeeling noise but it goes away wen i brake and its even louder wen im in reverse. im thinking brake pads??? let me know wut u guys think. thanks

 

could be the brake pads. have you checked them recently?

 

no i havent but why would brake pads make noise wen im not braking?? it goes away wen i brake though, its constant wen im driving and very embarrassing

 

if the brake pads are rubbing against the rotors then they would squeel when you are driving. when you brake then it puts the pad fully on the rotor. which would stop the squeeling.

 

Does it get really loud when you start the car and whe you accelarate? If so then it is probably your Air conditioning/alternator belt. All you need to do is just get it tightened. I had the same problem with mine about 3 weeks ago. Let me know if that was the problem or whether it was something else.

 

You could be grinding down your rotors. You better check those pads soon.
