Default Something wierd on my CRX

So I new something looked odd in the engine bay, but I couldn't quite place it. Well, with a little closer look, I saw what it is. I am not sure why, but they moved the the upper A-arms from being mounted to the top of the shock towers and re-located them to the inside of the shock tower. I'm thinking they did it as some sort of camber correction, but it doesn't seem very good. I'm putting it back to stock, but has anyone seen this before?

huh????

The A arm should not be mounted to the TOP of the shock tower. That's very wrong!

i think i know wat he's talking about...he means that the stock setup bolts down from the top of the shock tower and not bolted from the inner wall(next to the motor) of the shock tower.

Yeah, sorry guys, didn't get back, but I will try to get pictures, it's crazy stuff. Well, you guys probably missed how the radiator support was screwed on, not welded

Salvage title?

That sucks, looks like someone did some shitty repair work on it.

change the whole front. They're cheap from http://www.crxonderdelen.nl or http://www.akr-performance.nl

Actually before we paint it, we are getting a new radiator support and getting everything straightened out. It does have a clean title, just some rigged up repair work. As for the front, it has a SiR frontend going on it once we make it all line up.

Here are some pictures. I tried to pur some A-arms off of a 88 hatch, but they are hitting on the inner fender and the bolts won't puch all the way through the top. I think I need to knock the fender in a bit so they can clear. I also had a much harder time taking the strut assembly out of the car than on the one I pulled the A-arms from, it seemed like the strut was longer, the struts are blue like tokicos, and the springs are black, but neither have any stickers or markings that I noticed.

on the picture you can see 2 red spots where the arm was hitting the inner fender

and some pics of the holes they dirlled?

most likely they replaced the shocks with some aftermarket shocks froma auto parts store...and i knew wat u were talking about when u first posted. the holes on top of the tower are the stock location..i really don't know why they did that, probably to solve camber and hieght issues

Think I should bang the inner fender back in and put the arms in their stock location and see what it looks like?
