Default Which 215/45/17 tires?

Which 215/45/17 tires?

I want some high performance summer tires. These will be on a daily driver that sees 1200mi/mo and used in auto-X and maybe 1 or 2 track days. They must be street tires and they must be good in the rain. And I'm hoping to get 15,000 mi or more out of them. I don't want to spend more than $700 shipped for a set. These will be going on 17x7.5" wheels.

I'm leaning towards the SP9000s based on price, favorable reviews I've read, and my perception that I will get more miles out of them than say the S-03s based on the treadwear rating. I'm listing these in the order of my current preference:

1) Dunlop SP9000 (280AA) $600 shipped
215/45ZR17 SL 280 A A

2) Bridgestone Potenza S-03 $654 shipped
215/45YR17 87Y SL 220 AA A

3) BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW $614 shipped
215/45YR17 87Y SL 300 AA A

4) Yokohama AVS Sport $630 shipped
215/45WR17 87W SL 180 AA A

5) Bridgestone Potenza RE730 $586 shipped
215/45ZR17 SL 300 AA A

Anyone with experience with any of these tires - Recommendations? Thoughts?

Any other tires I should consider?

Default Get..

..the so3 pole positions. I have the s02 pp's and love them. Amazing grip, and good treadwear, I plan to replace my s02 pp's w/ s03pp's!

How many miles does it look like you will get out of your S-02s? I ask because I'm assuming that the S-03s should be about the same...

Right now, I'm leaning towards the S-03s or maybe the BFG KDWs. I've heard great things about both.

I had a set of "BridgeRock" RE730s. I loved them, but, I just put on a set of Pirelli's that are much much quieter and are very nearly as sticky. I would recommend either. I got about 36000 out of my RE730s. My $0.02
