Default Where can I send my head to get LINE HONED?????????

Ok, heres the scoop, I have set of cam caps that dont match my head, and need to have it line honed/bored, or as earl said the real thing is Align hone/bore haha....anyways WHERE CAN I SEND THIS HEAD TO GET IT DONE THATS NOT GOING TO TAKE 10YEARS TO COME BACK TO ME?????....none of the machine shops here have the proper tools to do this. and this is one of my last options here would be to ship it somewhere or buy a new head, and this one has lots of work into it!!! thanks.

I would put the caps on the head with a cam and see if it spins...most Honda caps will fit another head..I have seen few that don't.

We have bought a Sunnen/tobin-arp OHC line boring machine, that I know of the usage history, from an old friend/machinst. It should be here in the next two weeks. But until it is, it isn't.

I have a couple junk heads for setting it up and then I will offer this service.

Jim

My machine shop has the Sunnen OHC Head Line Boring machine. They charge about $650 to do a BVTEC head as you have to indicate both ends of 2 tunnels and bore and then cut 4 seal bores. No to mention that you have to remove the down pins and cut the caps.

I have an easier way I did Sheepey's head. That I charge $250.

Normally that is the case. But it seems like there are alot of big $$ ported heads that don't have cam caps.
