Default Power window not working

so my driver side window stopped working yesterday.I rolled it down all the way and now it will only roll up about 2 inches then just stops. It works perfectly for those 2 inches of movement. But when i try to make it go higher then the 2 inches it just stops and makes a weird *** noise maybe like a *buuuuuurrrrrrr*. I dunno, hard to describe over the internet. Maybe the motor is blown? But it goes up and down for those 2 inches which is what confuses me....

ok, i took the door panel off and forced the window up so i got it closed atleast but it's still broken. It will go up and down in various ranges but normally only about a couple inches either way before it stops and makes that weird noise. I guess it probably has to be the motor, i don't see what else it could be...

alright, the way i have it right now is all the way up and it can go down a couple inches but then stops and makes a weird noise and then i can move it back up. So it only goes up and down at the top for a couple of inches. Any idea as to whats causing this?

My window just did that last night...but mine fell off the tracks just take the door panel off and then there should be two 10mm bolts...undo those and try to get the window back in the groove..you might have to roll it up and down a couple of time before it sets in place..its a pain in the ***...but also the regulator might be going bad so we will have to see im going to go fix mine right now

i say its the motor.....common sense. There are only like 2-3 moving parts to a power window and it doesnt sound like it's the arm cuz the window isnt off track. Its 2006....that motor is pretty old now...hit the junkyards man

Yeah my 98 lude on the passenger side has some problems too. Using the passenger side switch it will go down however not up. I have to use the driver side switch for it to work.

i flipped the metal peice around
cut the rubber peice in half
screwed the metal peice into the end of the rubber peice (theres a plastic thing stuck on the end of the rubber so a screw is able to grab it)
