Default upgrading stock LS head... which route?

I'm looking at two different options here on h-t. I'm just curious as to which one will give me better gains for my stock LS-T. All opinions welcome

First buy:
"LS head-crower stainless steel valves, springs and retainers with mild port for $ 300
if you buy the head I'll throw in the JG camgears for 100 bucks still assembled ready to dropin 400."

Second buy:
"Its a 94 LS head that has been rebuilt with factory honda parts and I have added Crower Valve-train and 402T cams. The valves are still stock but have been cut to seal 100% and for those that dont know 402T's are crowers turbo cams. The Intake-Manifold is a skunk2. Only thing not included is cam gears but I have stock gears to throw in ... In actual tuning we have not shown any real gains from stock anyway.

Looking to get 500 OBO

The head was rebuit as of this summer. "

I'd take the first buy because of the port job. Even a mild port job does wonders to these heads. Looks like you'll be able to rev it out a little to with the upgraded valve train. Get some cams as a next project, but they arn't necessary if you are on your stock rods

a stock B16 head would flow as good as either of those heads, and have much more potential.. it would end up being more of a PITA though. I vote for the first one

If i go v-tech then i'm gonna do an all out race motor that's sleeved, so maybe in a few years, for now i just want a nicely built LS motor.

I would go with the second option unless the seller could tell me who did the porting and could provide pictures.

I was actually leaning towards the second myself and was hoping that would be the genearal consensus. And i think i'm going to go with that one regardless just because it's closer. I just wanted to make sure that it was at least a close call and not a landslide towards the first.
