Default Loobing LSD in my ITR tranny???

Can opening my tranny case and loobing the LSD make the clicking going away. I have a 98 JDM ITR tranny. A transmission shop here said that might help but I never heard of that. Any help fast.

When ever the car is moving its clicking. I rolled my car down a hill with the car off and it makes the click. The faster i go the faster it clicks. When the car is started and juss sitting there no clicking. Just when the car is moving. The transmission shop says its the differential. Just wondering have u guys ever heard or loobing the differential.

Yeah, most people that hear clicking, it's the axle.

Good luck nailing it though. Maybe jack the car on each side and spin the wheel in neutral..

yeah, it sounds like the axle to me. what kind of axles are they? I would definately put the car in the air and look at the joint boots. See if you have a bunch of grease in the area around the axle.

and are you saying it clicks at a stop to? or just when moving (in neutral and in gear). Axles can click when moving whether its in gear or neutral

When the car is at a stop no noise. When the car is at a stop with engine started, no noise. ONLY when the car is moving it makes that click, regardless if the motor is started or not. I have 99 Integra axles. The boots have no grease on them. Cant work on the car till it gets warm outside.

Have you checked your speed sensor? The speed sensor can make a clicking noise if it is not fully engaged. Just a thought. Good Luck

Meaning it's not tighten down properly. Make sure there is no gap between the casing and the sensor it self.

Best thing to do is remove it and check it. Just start with the process of elimination...

Couldn't you jack the one side up and turn the wheel and vice versa? If the click sound was made on both sides then its safe to assume its in the tranny, if its only on one side then it sounds like an axle.

Just put the axle back in. So my conclusion, its the differential.

Im from IA. It is NOT my axle, im 99.9% sure that it is. What the hell could be wrong with it, I just took it out and inspected it. There was kinda alot of tranny fluid. WHat could be wrong with my axle then guy.

What did you check on the axle? I would much rather pay 30-40 bucks replacing an axle than 500+ on a diff.
