2.0 or 2.2?
i'll be buying an s2000 fairly soon, i was just wondering other people's opinions on which motor is better. I like that the 2.0 revs higher, but i've looked at dyno charts on both and it seems that the 2.2 has more usable power. i will be building this all motor, so anything you guys have to say is appreciated.
if your going all motor it really just comes down to what you can afford...
you will stroke the 2.0 for an all motor setup, and the revs are going to drop down to 7 or 8...so the redline shouldn't be in the decision...
my vote goes out to the 2.2, because some say that the diffs hold up better than the ap1 ones...

Nah mang. Badazzmofo's be da fastest and da furiouses as a dog can be yo. Fo sho homey dog G's S2000 is gonna be the tizzle fo shizzle.
I like how he said he loves the redline on the car yet if he does all motor all the tuners stroke it to be 2.2+ liters and drop the revs a bit anyhow. Also wher the ***** are these 17 year olds getting the cash flow to do all motor builds these days? Back when i was in High school you'd be lucky to get a 80s Civic or Corrola and the BALLER rich kids only had Integras. Now you drive by High schools and you see G35's, 330i, 350Z etc.

I love when you guys point stuff out like that. hilarious. made my day. and yes I have to agree with the comment about where the heck teenagers get this money. Especially when I was in college, (graduated a month ago) freshmen drivin around in BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus, Audi, there are a pair of NSXs and Supras runnin around campus... and that's on top of the huge bill for actually attending the school too.
but no I'm not bitter

I've been saving money for college pretty much all my life, have roughly 10 grand saved up, and just got a full ride scholarship to college. I was planning on student loans to cover the rest. No plans to mod anything until after college when i have an actual income, so don't give me **** because you've got nothing better to do.

That's a waste of a perfectly good car. I'm tryin to save an endangered species.

To answer your question...neither engine is better, they are both great.
To add some of my own opinion...dont buy the car, spend the money on getting out of your parents house.

Yet another hard working "E-Saver". How many threads have i seen like this? I cant count that high. Its about as many as whats the best intake. If you have enough judgement to save that kind of coin you dont need us to baby sit you an decide for you what to do with your 10k. What you should have said is :
"My mommy has been saving all my b-day/x-mas money since i was a wee little boy and now since my spoiled *** graduated from highschool with a B- GPA they are getting me a S2000".
Doesn't that sound a bit more realistic? It might just be me but i know a **** load more spoiled Kids than i do kids that can save up 10k all there lives to buy a car when they turn 18. Heres a thought. You saved up that money for college. Why not spend it for college? DING DING DING DING.

Dude stfu if you didnt plan on modding the car why did you bother posting your stupid question? Why not wait till after you graduate college then post it?
Does that seem familar? You wont be modding the car but you will be going all motor. Uh ok. Buy the damn car first. Thats step one. Then you would at least have done better than half the posers who come in here asking :which color is the fastest S2000 or will the mugen i/h/e setup get me into the 11'. Or my favorite which intake is best?

Ok, first of all, I'm not trying to be an ******* about any of this. It was a simple question of other people's opinions who i trusted to be more experienced with the whole thing. Second, i have a FULL RIDE to college for ACADEMICS. All i wanted were simple opinions, but i guess if you've got nothing better to do then try to rip on a 17 year old kid over the internet then alright.

Dont start getting butt hurt...grow some thick skin. Again...neither are better, its like this (my ever famous comparison)...comparing the AP1 and AP2 is like comparing having $1,000,000 in one hundred dollar bills and one thousand dollar bills...slightly different, both equally great.
And at 17, i can promise you, given you have not got out in the real world yet, an academic ride through college is not going to help you when you need money to live on, and unless you're a moocher and you plan to just leech off your parents for 4 years, perhaps that money you saved could be better suited towards LIVING while in college. Im not your parents, and i dont have any room to lecture or anything truthfully because i didnt even finish college, but just thinking about it, if i was 17, with the knowledge i have now, if i had that amount of money and i had a free ride through college...i would use that money to keep my life as stress free as possible in all outlets so that i could maintain a grade point average good enough to keep that free ride throughout my college stay.
Get the toys later...get yourself something reliable and comfortable for now if you need a car.
