I did read your post, which was hard to read BTW. Like I said, any machine shop with a hydraulic press can press out the wrist pins. If there is nobody else and you need it done, you have no choice but to pay what they want right?

Try to open up the yellow pages in your area and check under Auto: machining and racing

Time is money and you are wasting more time and effort to save $15, which in the long run you will not be saving. If you have to spend more than an hour to save $15, you have lost it in time & effort ... think about it for 5 seconds and then call the guy back and schedule an appointment

i was wondering if the pistons could be removed without takeing the engine out. if so, does anyone know a how to site or a DIY site that has directions on how that can be done.?

You need to be able to get the oil pan off in order to get to the rod bolts.

Remove oil pan. Remove rod bolts.

1) Pull head. Pop out pistons from top.
or
2) Remove main caps and crank, pull out from bottom.

i never knew you could pull out the pistons past the ridges under the bores, unless b-series dont have these, i konw the h/f all have them. so attempting to drop pistons otu the bottom is a no no.
