I'm no mechanic, but I wouldn't "force" it into gear or you will tear up the gears IMO.

Stick your head under your dash. Follow the clutch pedal up and where the firewall is and see if its wet. If it is your master cylinder is shot. You should also check the fluid levels in the master cylinder also. But usually if you need to repair i would get the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and a bottle of brake fluid. Then dont forget to bleed the system afterwards.

you need to check if it's leaking from the master cylinder, slave cylinder, or lines before anything...find out how much fluid you have first...if it's just below the spout for the master cylinder, then you need to replace the master cylinder...if a good majority, but not all, is gone, then the lines or slave cylinder is more than likely the cause...if it's all gone, then it's definitely the slave cylinder...i'd try adding brake fluid first and going from there...the master cylinder is on the firewall, driverside...the lines go around the firewall and on the inner fenderwell (passenger side) and then to the transmission on the frontside...the slave cylinder is on the front of the transmission...good luck...

Nick, Nick, Nick,.......No offense but what kind of rubbish diagnose is that??? if it is not fully empty is this and if it is fully empty is that...if it is empty it could be any of the 3 things you mentioned ,, master. slave, or lines ..

Yo roller.......get a flash lite , get under the driver side dash and look at the clutch pedal rod, it will go into the clutch master cylinder , if you see any oil ( grease) than the clutch master is leaking.........in frt of tranny where the fork rod is at, that's the slave cylinder, pull back on the rubber boot and chk if there is any fluid showing, if there is , slave cylinder is leaking,, ..
