Check out this link below. They list sizes for your car, but on the left side of the screen you will see a link that says (tire calculator) You can use that to get all the specs on your tire to find out the difference between your tire, and the one you want to put on. When you click on the tire calculator link, put your tire size on your car now, on the left, and the size you want to put on the car, on right. Then click compare specs. This will give you all the dimensions you need. At the bottom you will see what your speedo will read, so try to match the sizes up right or it will throw your speedo off... 1 or 2 mph over or under really won't hurt you on the speedo.

kbanks thanks for the link. been talking it over with friends and everybody recommended i go with 17's instead. 17s are cheaper and so are the tires for those rims. so what would you guys suggest, would you guys put 18s or 17s on your car. and is an accord supposed to beat a crx cause my friend has an 89 crx and i have kicked his *** twice already.

I have 17 X 7 inch bronze Enkei RSVs on my '95 Ex coupe and they are great. I had 18 inch Volks on, but I had 225 tires and they rubbed all the time. The 17's combined with like a 215 tire (what I have) are great, they look good and aren't too big. Plus, you go faster with the 17's. lol.
Well 18's are heavier, so that may slow you up a little bit. But me, I'm a rim freak. I say put the biggest rim on that you can put without having to raise you car. Actually I would put the biggest rim on that still allowed me to drop the car. As you can see I don't race, but in your case, I would say do the 17's. They are lighter and that will help in acceleration. Besides, you shouldn't be losing to a crx.
I have a 7th gen. I can go alot bigger and still drop the car. I hate to see cars with wheels that are to big, or look lifted.
I tried on some 19's on my 03 cpe, and the wheel well swallowed the rim. It looked much smaller then a 19, so I went 20 and stopped there. 03 and 06 are the only Honda's that can take a 20 without it looking to big or gaudy. Thats a 20 on my avitar dropped a bit with a eibach pro kit, but thats a 03 4door, I have a cpe
I'll post pictures when I take some...

a shameless plug..
but i've got some motegi 18's w/tires that'll keep your speedo the same in the accord for sale thread.
they will though, slow you down. i noticed a diff when i put then on and took them off. also, expect your mileage to drop as well. but, they do look very sweet

yeah i haven't lost to a crx, i kicked its *** twice already. and today i bought some wheels by drag. i bought some 17 x 7 , 40mm offset for about $420. some black wheels with the polished lip. next step is actually buying the tires, i think i;ll go with what AFAccord suggested. these wheels will fit with no problem right? no rubbing? thanks for all the suggestions once again. next mod will be to drop an h22 in place of that shitty f22.

Yep. 215/40/17 tires are 75 inches in circumference. One inch less than the stock 185/70/14's or 195/60/15's. This one inch equates to exactly 1 mph at 60 mph. So at 30, you're going 29.5mph, 60 its actually 59mph, and we won't go above that since it's not legal. That's about as close of a fit you can get to the stock size. And yes, you will be rub free! No issues.

been looking at some threads and some dudes are talking about putting some 215/45/17 tires on 17 x 7 rims. some say cause 215/40's are too thin and they might hit a pothole and bend their rim or damage it somehow. one dude even said to go with 205/45/17s, what the hell? 215/40/17 or 215/45/17, confused now......?
215/40/17 has PLENTY of sidewall. It's nowhere near as 'thin' as any of these guys running 18" or 19" wheels with their 35 and 30 series. 215/45/17 is nearly 3 inches larger in circumference, making around 4mph difference at 60mph. It is also larger, and will deliver a more sluggish feel to the car since it's larger than what Honda intended for that car. 205/45/17 is getting dangerously narrow for a 17x7" rim. These are easy to spot on cars because they look as if they are stretched to match the width of the wheel. Furthermore, when the tire is this narrow in comparison to the wheel, then the 'rim protecting rib or edge' that most companies build into their low profile tires becomes useless because it is literally pulled away from the wheel's lip in order to fit the tire on the rim. This make an unsightly gap between the rib and the wheel's lip, a perfect place for pebbles/mud/sad and other road debris to pry itself between the tire and the rim, causing permanent damage to the tire, and obviously unsafe conditions for driving.
Here's a 215/40/17 for you with some inexpensive Kumho Ecsta 711's. Note that in this picture, they were taken off my 4th gen to test fit on the 6th gen, so they won't fill the wheel well as well as they will on your 92.

HEY, go with the 215/40/17 and call it a day. I wouldn't go any wider or skinnier on the tire.215 will fit a 17x7 well, even if you had a 17x7.5, a 215/40 would still fit well. I have 225 on mine, even though it's a 20, I have a 225/35 on mine and my width on my rim is 7.5 and it looks great. What I'm trying to say is that, on a 7.5 rim you can go 215 or 225. I forgot the width of the rim you said you have, but if it's a 7 or 7.5 you can't go wrong with 215/40.
got it now, yeah i was just confused cause those dudes were talking about the 215/45 and even the 205/40's like they were positive it was the right tire for a 17 x 7 rim. i should tell them to take a look at this thread. thanks for clearing up my thoughts and i should get my tires pretty soon.
