Im considering either a 2.0L to replace in my AP1 or I might go with the 2.2L

can anyone set me up with a good place to find both of these or know of one I can get it from?

hmotors has the 2.2L whole swap for 4000.00 I was hopeing to possibly find the long block, or a 2.0 whole swap for cheaper since it is a 2000 afterall.

 

so whats the deal with your waranty claim? is it covered or not?

 

$4k is a good deal, considering:

Ill never know, I felt they tried to do a typical stealership trap.

They wanted me to pay 700 upfront for a teardown, and Then and only then would they deside if it was covered. So basically I would be gambleing 700, and if they didnt cover it I would be out the money, and they would give me all my parts in a box and I wouldnt have a clue where they went.

So I saved my 700, and cashed that shady warranty i paid 1900 for and with the money i get back, I will use it to repair the car.

I dont really want to put 4000 into a 2000 s2000 with 65000 miles, thats best Possible trade in value if you negotaite is 16000.

I dont know what exactly happened to your motor but have you comsidered a complete rebuild instead of a swap?

 

Theres a small hole in the block by the starter. The block is repairable, But the crankshaft is not.

Ive completely torn it down and found and noted all my parts to repair it, but Im mainly looking for a crank right now, If I can find that, Itll be all good.

 

Talk to "Earl" Laskey. I remember him mentioning he had cranks in his stock.
