1996 accord insufficient flow for EGR...please help!!
The check engine light has been on for over a year, and every diagnostic says that we have an insufficient flow to the EGR valve. We have replaced the valve itself, the solenoid controling the air flow, cleaned all of the hoses connecting to it, and we have also cleaned the intake manifold. Each time we reset the light. The longest it has ever stayed off was 48 hours. After coming back on today, another diagnostic stated the same thing again. If anyone has any comments it is greatly appreciated. Thanks

remove the fuel rail and injectors then remove the egr access plate on the intake manifoldf and use a pipe cleaner to clean the passageways. reassemble using self taping screws to reattach cover. IF your car hesitates around 2-2.5K then this is the cause.

I have the same problem; I cleaned out all of my manafold passages and still have the problem. I replaced the egr, I think it is a wrong output voltage leading to the solenoid. the egr valve is not lifting all the way. It is coming up as a p0401, but the problem is more like a p1491 "insuffecent egr valve lift" please post me if you find out what is wrong.
