Does the intake from the newer 3.0L V6 fit on the 1998-2002 accord V6? If it does fit, how much of the 40 HP gain is it worth?

I think you are talking about the OEM intake system.

i do not think it will fit, because honda did redesign the frame so i don't think the resonator, mounting points and such will fit under the bumper, BUT i have no hard data.

Oh, the new accord didn't just gain 40 crank hp from the intake, it's almost not worth it to retrofit the new intake system to your car. both car is design to be quiet and easy on gas.

Yes, the newer intake system also have the upper(air cleaner housing and tube) and lower(resonator and air horn)

unless you get a free intake system/aircleaner from your friend, it's almost not worth the effort to try

 

well it appears that the TB is nearly in the same spot according to the pictures on honda automotive parts.... just thought i would ask.......


if I get this 1998 car first thing to go is all of that plastic covering the engine........that looks so gay...........

I noticed the other day that the intake on an Accord V6-6 sedan made in 11/05 is different from the intake on an Accord V6-6 coupe also made in 11/05!

The coupe's intake goes out into the fenderwell behind the headlight and is a complete cold air intake.
