I have a b16a1 obdo and I run 93. Do I have to or am I wasting my money. what is everyone else doing?

 

I have the same set up as you and I run 91. Only because they do not offer 93 here in cali

 

does it run good? Im paying over $2.50 a gallon for my 93 octane

 

All DOHC VTEC engines require a minimum of 91 octane.

 

im using 93 and it runs pefrect but i pay 2.47 a gal

 

i also run 93 i pay 2.23 per gallon

 

i have a b series motor in my car and I run 93 Octane I wish they offered 95 lke they use to. well I run 93 becuase I do not want to detonate my car. it happens Ive seen it.

 

I use 94 octane

 

Car: 88 Crx Si with B16 chea!
i only use 91 octane, i only use chevron

 

I use nothing but C-16, all day, everyday
I use crappy 91 octane cause where I live in cali they dont offer anything higher

I used to use shell but then I got some from another station with dedicated pumps (one pump puts out one type of gas not that push button bullhit) and my b16a runs noticable better. Better milage, quicker pickup and go and its only 91. I have put less in when gas was high and work hours for me were low and it still ran just not near as good.

Damn, I'm glad I never decided to be a cheapass at the pump.

 

I'm running 91 here in the states, and 98 back home in Holland.

 

Only chevron 92 octane

 

I run 90 octane with 10% ethanol on my SOHC ZC. No VTEC so no need for premium. Manual says 89 is needed. Once I do my mini me I will be using 92 octane with 10% ethanol.

I didn't think V-Power was anything special, but if it actually works, maybe I will try it.

Sunoco 94 octane for me, right around 2.60 a gallon, but I don't drive my rex on a daily basis.

you have no idea what you are talking about. please explain to me the difference in gases. What are the differences in 91 as opposed to 87. Please noone else answer this question. I want to see if this kid even knows what he is talking about.

 

oh i cant believe this thread. i put regular in my 88 civic from gulf and it dies. the shop tells me i have water in the gas tank. after two repairs i go back to gulf after months and it dies like a week later. maybe the shop is telling me the truth. i have a a4 but i never take it there no matter what. i put in shell premium.

 

87 for me, I'm cheap

 

I use 200 shot of nos, all the time.

 

lucky... what part of so cal, best i've gotten is like 2.49
