Default I'm new here, so I don't know if this question has been asked.

I just bought my 1996 Accord coupe 5 speed. Every once in awhile when I push the clutch in to start the car..it will start up, but then die right away..and I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone heard or know what this could be? Another question is my driver seat is a power seat, but it wont go up or down...could this be because the motor is bad or maybe.. a fuse somewhere? Any help would be greatful. Thanks

for the driver's steat make sure that all of the gears are working properly and that the motor is functional if everything is OK, check the switch as that is most likely the problem

Alright, i'll try that and see what happens.. thanks
Oh yea, and I checked the fuse and that was fine, so it has to be something with the motor or gears. But thanks!

I've seen bunches of non functional seats because someone stored their umbrella under the seat and tore loose the wires.
As far as your start and die problem try to always turn on the key and wait for the CEL to go off, then crank the engine. That might help your problem.

when you start the car ,do not let go totally of the key ,, hold it just slightly backed off the start position,, if car stays running you got a bad electrical portion of the ignition switch

Alright, I will try that. I looked under the seat and.... well... I hate to say this, but all that was wrong was the wires were unplugged.. I feel like an idiot. I thought it was something more then that. Thanks alot though for all the help.
