What are you looking for that's different from the ES100? More dry traction? Better wet traction? Longer treadlife? Better traction on snow and ice? Are you willing to pay more money than the ES100? Let us know and we can give you a recommendation for your needs.

I have a set of 205/40/16 azenis which are good but im looking for a 45 sidewall and better dry traction than the es100, ive found that since im making over 300whp the es100's were **** they just spinned, even my all season Falkens grip better than those in 15 inch! They will only be used for summer/rain only. I was considering the Goodyear F1GSD-3 ive heard good things about them

Yes, those would be exactly my recommendation. They're the best street tire you can get, except for maybe the Falken Azenis which, as you correctly note, isn't available in 205/45.

You've probably already seen the comparison test of top-of-the-line tires in the December issue of Car and Driver, which the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 won. It's really a great tire, and sounds perfect for your needs.

There's currently a $40 rebate on a set of four, if you buy them before January 21.

No, but I know a lot about a lot of different kinds of tires. I am an instructor at a lot of track events, so I get to ride in a lot of different cars on racetracks, and I notice how they do. Also, I know a lot of the guys who work at the Tire Rack (a lot of them are also track event instructors at the same events) and we chat about various tires.

The performance of the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is really awesome. It's similar to the Bridgestone S-03, just one of the very best street tires out there, in dry conditions as well as wet conditions. It also is attractively priced, significantly less than the S-03, and even better when they run a rebate on them.

If I had 16" wheels on my ITR, that's the tire I'd get for it.

i have Kumho 712's in that size and i personally like them.. its like 72 bucks or 78 bucks a tire.. not bad. i havent had any probelms in the rain, but then i dont drive hard in the rain cuz it doesnt rain much here.. nor does it snow so i dont worry about that either.. but as far as dry streets are concerned.. they work great.. they have a shorter tread life than the 711's and the rubber compound is stickier than the 711's as well...

By comparison with today's best tires in the "bang for the buck" budget performance segment, the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 is absolutely mediocre. In a side-by-side comparison test against the similarly-priced Yokohama ES100 on the Tire Rack website, the ES100 was superior in all 23 out of the 23 characteristics reported. That's why Kumho is replacing the 712 with their new, improved Ecsta SPT tire.

This guy is looking for something BETTER THAN the ES100, not WORSE THAN the ES100...

oh well im not a tire guru or have very little knowledge of tires other than size, tread wear rating, and compound.. as you can see lol..

but if yokohama's are about the same price, i'd go with them, they're a well known name and what not.. i think i might get me a set now that you mentioned that they are about the same size...
