I was thinking of a design for a front xmember, to eliminate engine rocking, and to really help out with the stiffness of your motor. I can't imagine this being great for daily driving, but for race purposes i think it would work out great.

What i would do is just get a piece of square stock, and notch it out to fit flush around a round xmember bar, and fab up a plate with two holes to fit onto your front mount holes. Anyone think this would work ok? I don't remember seeing it done, and i was thinking of trying to make one and trying it out.

here's a horrible diagram. Its no cadkey, but ti works!

and even if that would be too stiff, seems like you could get away with using some urethane washers for in between the trans and the plate ehh..????

I swapped a b18 into my crx and modded the stock integra mounts/linkage to fit and i did a cross member like the one you have drawn. It would make the car vibrate when you were stopped or just letting it idle when i'd pull up to a light, but other than that, i liked the fact that it didn't allow the motor to move at all.

I used a 1" round bar for the x-member and made brackets for the control arm bars w/ helm joints and then used i believe it was 1.5" or 2" square tubing and just made some what of an L shape, drilled a whole through the top peice and bolted it to the tranny and then welded the piece to the cross member. Worked very well and never broke. I actually ran only the two side mounts and the front mount that I made with the x-member with no rear mount. It worked very nice.

I hope that made sense to you if you had any other questions, i'll try to find some pictures that i had but no promises.

made perfect sense. Maybe i'll try it out. I will run both side and rear mounts with this tho. It's gonna be a stiff bitch. Now to get hold of a welder
