what first?
Ok, so I want to have a fully built sohc d16z6 in my '95 ej1 coupe. My future plans are to have it boosted with a Greddy turbo kit, intercooler kit, and TT exhaust. I want to do some internal modifications first. I dont know what to do first though.
-Bigger fuel injectors, AEM fuel rail.
-Skunk 2 cam shaft, AEM cam gear, and AEM pulleys.
-Skunk 2 turbo valve springs, and Skunk 2 valves.
???
I'm a new member, so any help would be great. Thank-you.

i was thinking about the greddy turbo kit. You have to buy the intercooler kit seperate.
If i wanted to do stuff liek valve springs first, could i get the turbo valve springs from skunk 2 with out being turbo?

i wouldnt waste my money on the greddy kit, ur gonna buy it, and after a few months ur gonna want something more, and greddy probably cant help u with that.. build ur own kit..
as for internal modifications... imho leave it stock just get a nice tune.. unless ur trying to make sick numbers that is...

so you guys think i should make my own kit. i was thinking about the greddy kit but it would be expensive. the turbonetics kit is cool also...it said my horsepower would be at 200 rather the stock 125 with 8 psi.
o yeah...i was also planing on keeing the A/C and power stearing.

I would first get the turbo kit and then go from there. But you say the car has 130,000 miles which is kind of high and when you look at it with all the money you are going to spend on the turbo kit, fuel system, and the engine rebuild you might as well just use that money to swap in a B-series or H-series.
yeah I rather go with a custom turbo kit...you would be better off with that then greddy...you should get a jdm single cam d15b vtec...if you want to boost high then get a external wastegauge and some APR headbolts...that should be pretty safe to boost over 5 pounds...dont know how much you would be able to boost.
i boosted one of my ej's after it rolled over 195,000 miles... ran like a champ!
but i was rear ended by a moving truck..
the motor is coming out and going into my ej2..
as long as you arent burning oil, have no leaks.. you should be fine for a while staying under 10psi..
over 6psi, i recommend ARP headstuds.. head lift is common in d-series..
get a felpro 3-layer steel headgasket, headstuds.. and boost away!
if you wanna read up more about boosting your z6, i recommend http://www.turbod16.com the gurus of boosted z6's live here..

130,000 miles is fine for boost, other people have boosted on much higher mileage with no problems at all. in my opinion, just buy the turbo kit for the d16 and i think you will be more than happy with it.
