WHY IS THERE OIL LEAKING FROM MY HEAD?
HEY GUYS, I FINALLY GOT MY MOTOR SWAP IN ON SUNDAY FOR MY BIRHTDAY BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE PROBLEM, OIL LEAKS OUT FROM MY HEAD. WHEN I START THE CAR IT IS OKAY, BUT ONCE I SHUT IT OFF ALL THE OIL, EVERY LAST DROP, DROPS OUT. IT COMES OUT ON THE DISTRIBUTOR SIDE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. IS THE HEAD WORPED? SHOULD I GET IT SHAVED? IF SO, WHO IN GEORGIA CAN DO IT? SHOULD I HAVE PUT A SEALANT ON THE HEAD GASKET BEFORE I TORQUED IT DOWN? I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
It could be the o-ring on your distributor (thats what mine is) or the head gasket may need to be replaced or you may need some liquid gasket on it (as the helm recommends) or the vtec solenoid gasket could be leaking. Clean the motor off and try to see where it is coming from.
