Default School me on retainers

The types that are press and fit like i.e rev. dont wear because they fit snugg and dont move, but non press and fit wear in 6 months or so because they dont fit tight and combined with high revs they incur signficant wear. correct?

I have Skunk2 springs and retainers that are not snap fit. They have been in for around 3 years with no problems. My friend has a set of Skunk2s with the same thing. Countless others have no problems out of theirs before the snap-fit came out. I'm not saying the snap-fit is bad or anything, if I were going to do it again I'd get Omni's.

I have GS-R cams right now, going to put in BC3+ soon, I rev to 8500. My friend has S2S2s, revs to >9500 quite often.

Nothing is impervious to wear.

Idea is the snap fit retainers wont ever spin around on the spring and cause them to wear out.

Non snap fit sit loose and give a possibility for spinning around and thus wearing quicker. (some manufacturers claim)

As far as skunk 2 they have been notorious for wearing but peopl are always on here saying I've had mine for blah blah and they are fine so who knows. Maybe they lucked out or maybe they will fail next week.

Interference fit doesn't eliminate wear, just reduces it substantially.

yeah i alwasy thought they would be a wear item, until i ran a set for 20k or so, and checked them. they have ZERO wear, not even a scar on the surface. like if i cleaned it with brake cleaner i could sell them as new
