Rebuilding a CRX, but the starter just whirles, and wont turn the flywheel. Is it supposed to?

 

Flywheel turns, motor tries to crank, but wont turn over. I can't tell if it's getting fuel, but there's fuel in it. Can anyone help?

 

First thing you need to do is check for spark, fuel, timing, and then compression. Also, make sure you have the sparkplug wires in the right order and that you have all the grounds attached.

 

is it the right flywheel I got the wrong flywheel for my car one time and my starter was just whirling as well. then if thts not the problem es check for spark and fuel.

 

Alrght... the starter works now, it's catching the flywheel.. just wont turn over. It's not getting fuel, and I don't believe it's getting spark. Can I have any grounds whatsoever off the car? All grounds in engine bay are fine. Thanks in advance.

 

Getting spark, but not getting fuel at the filter. It gets a little, but not near enough pressure. Anyone help?

 

Sounds like a fuel pump issue.

 

try your throttle cable . . it maybe lose either that or check your fuel line if its clogged . .

 

Pull out the main relay and look for cracks in the solder. Usually if the main relay goes it will start intermittently. Make sure your gas cap is all the way on too.
