ZC 1st gen!
i have an 86 CRX si. i want to do a DOHC ZC browntop, i found someone to do it for $2000, is this a good deal? he said for 2G i get the motor, tranny, ecu, front spindles, axles and tune it after. He also said he coulds have it done in four days!
yeah I guess that is a pretty good deal I guess. Well it all depends if he is going to tune it well. if it was me I was b16a it and get the whole swap. I know you can do that and get it tuned for 2000 grand as well. its a fair call I guess. I just dont like d series motors.
price sounds a little high - has this person done a browntop ZC swap in a 1st gen CRX? - what does he do about the EACV? do you also get shift linkage? (you will need it) - we never do a ZC swap without replacing timing belt, tensioner, water pump, front and rear crank seals and oil pan gasket - does he do this? - what about clutch? (you will need one) - what about belts and hoses? what about exhaust? i think you need to ask a lot more questions and get a quote in writing stating exactly what you get for your $2000
