Default just bought my DA and i was wondering........

hi guys, im new to the forum and just bought my DA (all stock) and im wondering what is the first thing i should do just to make it faster. im planning on buying cams first, i was looking at the buddy club and skunk2 cam gears, but im not sure what to get yet, so if you guys can help that would be great! i have a shortram intake already, planning on gettin a 4:1 headers, but i dont wanna buy it yet. so what should i do first?

here is my DA:

its sittin on blades with the jdm one piece and lip. primed black all around.

anyone in the bay got a rear bumper for me?

sorry i can't help you...but i must say thats a very clean DA...congrats and welcome!

edit: sorry i didn't answer ur question, yeah you can do cams, but what are your future plans w/ the car, cams are a great start if you want to be all motor, but if your planning on any sort of forced induction (turbo, supercharger) it's a bad idea to do cams, only b/c your going to have to replace them anyway....if you are unsure what to do, start off w. the basic intake/header/exhaust (I/H/E) until you know what you wanna do exactly

whatever you do....don't body kit that ... it's clean...i hate to see it ruined ... a nice coat of paint would definately give it more justice though

i want it to be all motor. no turbo or anything on it. not body kit either, i just wanna buy the add on kit all around for the looks, with jdm all around, and for the interior go from blue to black interior with gsr black leathers on the looks, and for the motor i plan on doing what ever i can. lol i have a short ram right now, and im going to get 4:1 headers soon with straight pipe and exhaust, but i just wanna know what else i can do to make my motor better preformance and speed wise.

i also plan on getting new paint (black) and new shoes on it, lookin at rota auto x but not sure yet.

plan your motor and build it all at once, because a bunch of parts thrown together isnt going to make a good motor...

so slow down, take a breath, and read about your options..i promise you'll change your mind 100 times before you actually do something..

shocks/springs would be a better investment than cams for you IMO...

oh and make sure youve got all your maintenance done before you start going nuts on your car

I totally agree with him... I must have changed my mind a couple hundred times before I started assembling my motor.

wait til you have some cash, and plan it like everyone else said, itll work 1000000000 times better that way. I change my mind alot and its starting to kick me in the wallet. Ls/Vtec will be ur best bet. But for now buy a B16 tranny. Itll help out alot now, and ull need it later anyway

Your short ram intake is taking power away from your motor. Put the factory intake back on and take out the resonator! You should be pumping about 2 extra horse power with that setup...
