What is this thing?

i have an 2001 SH and right above the engine number, where it says h22a4, there is piece of rubber coming out of the block...so i pulled it out and it exposes a small square is the engine...i can see my flywheel but thats pretty much it...anyone know wut this is for?...also it lookes like something broke off of it...

i dont think thats supposed to be happening? does it make u leak oil?

thats the flywheel inspection port. You pull that off to see the timing marks too.

Yes, it is...that's how you set your ignition timing with the flywheel marks like onefastrx7turbo said.
