Default Power Steering fluid

I was wondering if there is any need to change this fluid? Will old fluid affect performance? Does honda recommend it be changed at a certain interval?

honda doesnt specify a change interval .However, if yours is burnt smelling or getting really dark it wont hurt to change it. I changed mine and it didnt really make a difference as far as steering or anything like that. Im just hoping that it will extend the life of the pump.

use the stuff that says "for honda power steering pumps" on the label.

edit: i shoudl have said "don't use any power steering fluid that doesn't specify that it is for honda power steering pumps"

just go to the stealer and buy some. you arent spending THAT much more, and you know its not gonna ruin your whole power steering system

when i had my car in for servicing, the service advisor said they don't usually change the PS fluid unless the system is malfunctioning/leaking.

i change mine out every year or two. it actually makes the steering quieter and you can feel the difference a bit.
