Searched, couldn't find anything so here goes... pretty much all of the time my car smells like gas, I never top it off and it isn't leaking..never noticed any puddles or spots under the car. Thanks in advance for the replies.

 

Well usually when you can smell gas its cuz its leaking fuel somewhere. I remember when I smelt gas alot in my car when i'd pull into the garage, and i figured it was just exhaust, then I popped the hood with the engine running and gas was leaking out of one of the injectors, the little o-ring was bad.

 

where is the smell coming from? the front? back? inside? under the hood?

check fuel filter connections and fuel rail/injectors

 

Yea check those things. Run ur hand underneath, or look underneath the fuel rail & make sure nothing is leaking out from below.

 

Something is leaking. Check all gaskets and connections of fuel pump, fuel line, injectors, fuel filter, etc. Anything that has to do with fuel.

 

Possible Problems

-To much gas in the tank, excess gas leaking through seal around filler neck tube
-O ring where fuel pump meets the tank could be rotten an gas is escaping through there whenever you happen to hit a bump.
-Hole in the tank itself
-Hole in the filler neck tube (they rot away over time)

 

Thanks for all your help, it was the o-ring so now I don't have to smell gas 24hrs a day...I already work at a gas station adn thats enough.
