Default Is your engine noisey?

I have a 2000 Si, with almost 40K on the clock. This is my first Honda, but not the first
one I have any experience with. I work at a Honda dealer and as far as I can determine the noise is the typical Honda noise. Slight chatter and you can hear the
injectors cycle. Goes away as you rev the engine. A tech told me that the B16 is usually noiser than say a D series. Same one adjusted my valves for me, no problems. And I use the recommended 5W30. Is it just that Honda engines are noisey?

Anyone?

Does it sound like a "belty" noise?

ya, i have a non vtec Dseries, and its noisy, especially at idle, i hate, makes me think something is wrong, but its good to here, that they are known to be noisy. I was hoping after i do my c5 swap, it would sound like it idled smoother, but it doesnt sound like it will, from all of your comments.

I just thought it was my valves talking to me. I guess its just normal...My B16 actually kind of sound like a diesel engine when its really cold out, before it warms up.

I dont know if it has anything do with it but I just switched over to castrol fully synthetic and it seems to cold start smoother and cold idle much better for me on my jdm b16, same for regular warmed up idleling.
