Default Starting problem.

First off I have a 20. liter, 12.5 CR with S2S3 cams. I know that it won't always start right up.

Here is the issue. I am having to run constant cold start enrichment due to issues that can't be fixed right now. Sometimes when the car is especially difficult to start it loads up the muffler with fuel and then POPS very loudly when it finally catches. I'm running an Omni test pipe and JDM ITR B pipe....its 2 or 1 1/4 all the way back to teh muffler. Problem is that the axle back is about 1 1/2 inches. I'm wondering if having a quick fix muffler setup with a 2 1/2 inlet might help alleviate some of the purely hellacious sounds coming from my cars *** during start up. I know that with a buitl motor runnign rich I'm having a major exhaust restrriction with the stock muffler.

Has already been tuned. There is no problem at higher RPM's, its just low RPM....I was told that this is becuse cold start enrichment must be run all the time seeing as how there is a problem in my ECT wiring....it reads 261 degrees ALL the time. No, it is not the ECT itself. I don't have time to fault trace it until next weekend at the earliest.

This is not a thread about needing tuning...I just want to know if reducing the exhaust restriction at the axle back flange will help out with all the damn starting noise. Thnx!!

fix that before you muck about with the exhaust.

you're bringing the IACV and ECU into play with cold enrichment. Eliminate that and you're working with a cleaner sheet of paper starting from a true blank white sheet.

I'm not running an IACV right now....my IM doesn't have the bolt holes for it.

the ECT issue is due to wiring and I don't have the time to trace it out. I know the ECT itself is fine though.

In order to even get the car to crank I have to run a little extra pulse width on the injectors via my EMS tune. I know it sucks, but there isn't a way around it for a little while.
