TI Valves will also run out faster than a tank of gas.

Exactly, how many people do you know with TI Valves in there street car, probably none. Could be because they have about a 200 mile life span, so like I said they will run out faster than a tank of gas.

yeah but the other day there was a thread floating around and somebody was bashing the Ti retainers, even tho everybody runs them in their street cars. they suggested steel retainers but no company is willing to start making them.

i saw them in manly's catalog

just for reference:
the ls7 uses titanium intake valves and sodium exhuast valves
and the titanium conrods

it has a 4" stroke and 0.6" lift
it revs to 7k
11.0:1 c/r

vvvvv i dont know what this guy is talking about vvvvvv
i'll put my money on the manufacturing process yielding either quality or **** components
follow that up with parts that were made to go together

Think about the temperature in the combustion chamber.

Think about the dissimilar metals and their respective properties.

Think of what a valve does as the cam returns to its base circle.

The BIG problem with titanium is that is galls easily whenever there is any kind of sliding motion between titanium and a dissimilar metal. So just think of what will happen between the valve and valve guide. As for sodium filled valves, these valves are hollow, but filled with sodium inside. The sodium is a good conductor of heat and helps cool the valve.
