Default Jackstand placement? on a 99 civic coupe, exhaust q's

Hi all

I need to lift my car up this weekend to remove my aftermarket catback and put the oem one back on. 99 Civic coupe. I have 1 jack and 2 jackstands. What would be the best placement for the stands so that I don't get crushed to death? Any tips for removing the B pipe from the cat? I know theres a nut and bolt tucked up high close to the body and I'm not sure how i'm gonna get to it. Does the OEM catback use any gaskets or anything? My car came with an aftermarket exhaust so this is all new to me.

I was planning to put the 2 jackstands on the passenger side jack points but I'm not sure how to get em there if I'll be using the jack to raise up one of the jack points?

When I want to do this, I put the jack under the chasis where the supension connects. If your car is really lowered and you can't the the jack that far under, try using the front or rear lift points.

One stand under each of the front lca connecting points(where they bolt to the frame). Jack on the rear tow hook. Remove the cat with the b pipe. Makes it alot easier. The cat bolts might be rusted on there. If they are, you can just cut the bolts and hammer out the part of the bolt that is pressed into the cat. Replace with normal bolts.

thx a lot.

No it's not hitting the bumper or clanging around. I have a very small space between the bumper and the tip. We'll see what happens once i try to mount a lip on there.

for the future, there is a jacking point at the front of the car slightly towards the drivers side, jack there and then put the jackstands under the chassis jack points.

oh, and if its too low, drive up onto a small piece of 2x4 and that will give you another inch or inch and a half
