2005 Civic suspension questions
I know, I own a RSX so how hard can it be for me to know civic suspension. Well, acctually, from everything I'm reading, its getting pretty confusing. Anyways, here's what's going down:
My fiance's 2005 Civic LX 4-dr is going to the body shop for a new bumper and fender (got hit while she was at a confrence in the bay area) and since she's taking it to my buddy to get all the work done, he says it'll install whatever suspension for me for nada. Its a suprise to her, drop and wheels.
Anyways, I'm trying to find a coilover for her car where I don't have do modify anything, but all the coilovers I see are for 01-03 civics and I'm just trying to find one that's compatable w/ the 2005. I know tein has one, but I kinda got a thing against tein, that and I'm trying to go for something a bit softer too (she doesn't really drive hard or track her car, unlike me). I really wish I could go with something along the lines of the Tanabe S-OC coilovers but I just can't find anything compatable. Can I just run 01-03 coilovers and get away with it or am I just gonna have to settle and do springs? EM owners, lend a helping hand?

I have Eibach springs and Koni shocks on my 2001, along with the Eibach sway bars front and rear. IMO the ride is far superior to stock, but the 2005s seem to have a bit better suspension than the 2001s. Not trying to dissuade you from coilovers, but i've had good luck with this combo.

if you get coilovers you will need 01 top mounts!
go to 7thgencivic and check the suspension thread!

In principle yes, but 01-02 has 14mm crash bolts and 03+ has 16mm crash bolts.
So basically..... buy Konis, put them in the stock housings, buy springs. Thats the surefire way not to screw up.
I can't remember who makes 03+ ones specifically, might be one of the tokico sets, but I'm not sure.
EP3s have 16mm crash bolts.... with coilovers, you could bolt a set right in.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I'll probably just put her on some Pro-Kits over the stock shocks for comfort sake. At least I know my options are open if I move her up to coilovers later down the line (only mod needed would be to drill out the hub bracket to accept 16mm bolts) and everything up top should bolt in the same across the board.
