i'm about to install a 2001 prelude moonroof into my 1993 prelude; just waiting for the brackets to come in. Here is a write-up for the conversion.

i did it in my lude pretty simple. just need the 5th gen glass and you have to drill 4 hole then the rest is just bolt on

Just remember the moonroof is heavier than the 4th sunroof might not be many pounds heavier, but I recall it's about from 3 to 5 pounds heavier, correct me out there if I'm wrong just so you know that you will be adding more weight to your lude, if you can care less about the weight then go for it, I'm very anorexic about my prelude myself.

I would be more concerned with getting rid of potential rust

I have no need for "speed holes" hehe

might wanna be more concerned about leaking... i know people who tried messing with their sunroofs/moonroofs and didn't fit it perfectly right, now they get wet whenever it rains. just a thought.

also note that the whole mechanism including the motor has to be relocated downwards about 8mm so your glass sits flush. To do this you have to remove the headliner to get to the mounting points and then shim the mechanism using washers. If you dont do this the sunroof pokes out proud of the roofline, not much but if your a picky bastard like me then you'll want to do that last adjustment!

The write up in superhonda.com says trim the plastic, so it sits flush, is this what you talking about?
