JDM ZC headlight qustion [searchedd]
alright my plan is to get some ZC headlights and throw a good ol HID kit in there.....now i searched and it found out they use H4H bulbs....but people are getting some H4's, 9006's and whatnto and custom fitting them...and one guy said get 9003 and get a socket from a 93 civic and they will fit on.....now my question.....if i get the part from a 93 civic and get a 9003 HID kit....would it work?.....im a lil confused someone set me straight.
Im pretty sure it will work, the only diff. w/ these stock bulbs are the metal brackets that fit around them. Like my buddy took a dremel to some yellow H4s (i think, not to sure what kind of bulbs they were) to make them fit in the zc headlight.
Please correct me if im wrong. Also post up what setup you end up going w/ and pics when its all said and done

For starters... HID's are cooler than regular bulbs.
Second, the "ZC" headlights use H4 bulbs. The SiR ones use H4h ones.
To make the sum up complete before someone asks:
The EDM "ZC" headlights are similar. And the EDM VT (SiR equivalent) glass headlights also use H4.

What's special about ZC headlights?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i guess the beam pattern is cut different and housing is bigger since it's only 1 bulb and headlights give more visibility. i dont have them but my friend does and they have a better cast on the road from an exterior and driving view than my stock headlights. i have silverstars and he has stock h4s that they came with still.

i really dont know and JAPJUNKIE could tell if he looks at them. turn them around and line them straight and see if the housing is slanted the same as the other. but my friend just put them in and i didnt notice a difference in them pointing to the pass side more even though i was mainly looking for that. but initially when your looking at new headlights and their function you are looking for all imperfections and i didnt notice any, i'm guess he didnt either.
Well I've always heard of people converting to JDM front clips and then having problems with blinding people and getting people flashing their headlights at them.
Maybe they just need a good adjusting, though.

i'm getting them if i can get them cheaper than $150. and the TL HIDs i have will go in. so the way i see it either way i'm going to blind people sometimes. lol

You must have gone to a pretty laid back brake and lamp inspection shop. Was it for a salvaged car? No JDM headlights can pass that inspection since they do not have the exterior nipples on them like USDM ones. They use a machine that uses the nipples to adjust everything. Unless the shop you went to had a diff light adj machine.
I took my old del sol to a brake and light insp. out here in So. Cali too. Man they made me change everything off
Had to remove my rep mugen bumper for the stock one I did not have. Since it was freshly painted out of the shop, I brought it in there on 13" blackies and they were like, "It wont pass w/o new tires on these" I was like what?! And they made me take off my one pieces, for stock. Now, that I think of it, they were probably trying to make a quick buck off me...but they werent some whole in the wall shop, I dont know...all in all it ended up costing around $250 to get the isp done.
EDIT: Hmmm I swear I thought they were H4Hs, I remember my buddies w/ these headlights always had to take a dremel to thier new bulbs. What type of bulbs do oem usdm stock headlights use, the non-brights?

yeah it was for a car that got salvaged from an accident i got into. it wasnt laid back, they took a while on the car. sounds like your shop just wanted you to feel prison raped. they probably called you sally after you left
EDIT: from my research prior to the inspection it is my understanding that as long as the headlights can be adjusted you can pass the inspection.
