Hey, as many of you may know, I volunteer at a local rescue squad. Lately, in light of all the sensless deaths due to street racing, drunk driving, lack of seatbelts, etc, we've decided to make an educational video. I've taken the street racing part under my wing. I plan on showing videos of how disasterous this could be. So if any of you have any videos showing the harsh reality of what could happen (i.e, the white itr in canada that flipped, it was in some music video a while back), i'd greatly appreciate it.

I also plan on putting in a plug for auto-x, HPDE's, and drag strips, to show these kids there is a time, and place for everything.

Actually, I believe that ITR was just ******* around jumping railroad tracks.. that would be a misrepresentation of the facts to claim it was a street racing incident.

 

Theres a video of some chick driving a camero at a street race and runs off the road and takes some people out. Not very clear, but worth checking out if someone posts the link.

 

I suppose you could just do a "street stupidity" video... But then 80% of drivers would get a mention...

 

regardless, it demonstrates that cars are not toys, and if they are treated as such, bad things happen, and people die.

I've seen a recent video of an s2000 going off a cliff during a group run. The guy was going at a pretty good clip through a left hand curve, understeered badly, didn't correct and went flying off a cliff. It was posted on s2ki fyi.

That's true. Not arguing that. But if I happened to be your teacher/prof. and you turned in that video as part of the "street racing" segment, you could bet your *** you'd be receiving a hell of a lot lower grade for turning in something that has nothing to do with your assignment. Might as well turn in a video of a car wrecking at a race track during a professional race. Both have the same amount in common with street racing, which is nothing.

 

This isn't for school, or a grade. it's something we're doing internally at the rescue squads to be presented at all the local high schools.

 

me. Ok then, if I was a teen ager I'd laugh at you for passing off a moron as a street racing accident Just tape that ER Trauma show and tell them that guy with the knife in his back was cause he was street racing.
