Im going to install my big t3/t4 .60 trim, after winter, and i definately dont have 500 for sleeves, so i want to know whats the most psi i should run on the block? im not worried about rods or pistons, im going with eagle, and JE. can any one give me their 2 cents?

on an LS I think i've seen up to about 350hp on stock sleeves... of course I blew the sleeve on my b18b1 @ 254whp at the track. Where are you getting the price $500 for sleeves? I haven't seen the cost of sleeving a block for less then $900?

he said 254 WHP....not HP...there is a difference...and it seems his tune was unfortunate..most ls's ive seen are sitting at 275 even with no problems

 

The amount of boost doesn't mean anything. With more volume, there is more heat. 10psi on a T25 certainly doesn't equate to the same amount of stress as 10psi on a T88.

A stock Honda block should be able to handle about 280-320whp tuned. TUNED is the key word here.

no matter how many times i say psi isnt universal there are always **** loads of people that tend to act like it is...so i try not to say it anymore

 

If you are building as you say but going with only stock sleeves, I have seen 500+ done safely on stock sleeves with a built bottom end.

Even at that, the thought of 500hp in an integra is sheer amazement to me. Its scary to imagine that in a FWD car.

I did 8psi on stock block and bottom end and spun to bearings and toasted my number 3 piston. Now I'm going to try a b20b. Good luck.

 

I ran 8psi my gsr for a year pretty hard until I cracked my ringlands on piston #1. My car has always been tuned and work on by a great shop. A turboed honda requires more maintenance, so if you do your own work that is half the battle.

Just saw your are going to run forged pistons and rods.....then I have seen 15psi and higher without sleeves. Again, though, after 300 whp traction is an issue. I am at 10.5 psi and at 302whp. I would say anywhere from 10 psi to 1bar is fine just really depends on how much power you want.

My boy is running 15 psi low boost and 18psi with Eagle rods and JE pistons on stock sleeves. We run the same ET's at the track and he also has an LSD. I think 300 whp with traction is better than 400 whp spinning.
To me though over 14psi is kinda high, but if you have the cash or experience to do your own rebuild......damn then boost away.

My cousin has a 99 gsr and running on 10 psi and running safe on his stock block.

 

yeah, no stock bottom end here man! 10psi is not enough, i was thinking more like 18 or so. i mean i really want to get into 12's. Even a 12.9 will be awesome, just getting into 12's or better is my goal. Probably only run 7psi or so daily. my engine builder decided i should go with titanium valve springs and retainers, is it true they will help me rev higher??? its just what i heard.

JE 8:5:1 forged pistons, Eagle rods, 3-angle valve job, titanium springs and retainers, port and polish, balanced and polished crank, race bearings, bored .20 over, and i think thats all. any ideas on what ill run with a good tune, and 18psi? estimates

 

I run 20psi all day long on my stock ls. 320/260 on the completely stock motor. I beat the **** out of the car day in and day out.....and it still runs strong.
