would a repaint be a sin? OPINIONS POR FAVOR!
so i recieved my cw 98 with the worst condition paint i have ever seen. its flat. has marks from where the giant shelby style stirpes went down the center. any type of dirt or oil stains the paint.
. upon picking this up i planned on refurbishing it, new wheatewhr stripping and black molding jazz along with a fresh coat of cw. i have messed with non OEM paint in the past and it is a pain in the *** (chipping, delicate). there is some rear damage that will need repainting, so the rear will have some brannnnd new NH-0 and the rest willl be old. i would have to really keep on task with the older paint so it would all match up. this thing needs help. so, would you guys consider it a sin to repaint this daily driver or do my best with a buffer/polisher(or send it out) and make it look as good as possable to match the newer paint.

1) it's your car, but since you asked....
2) I would say given its condition (it's by no means mint), definitely repaint it. Especially if it's a professional job with CW. Make it pretty!

I don't think its a sin, Honda paint isn't exactly the best, so when you can improve it, do it.
When my FBP type r starts to show some more signs of wear im getting the whole damn thing repainted again.

If the paint is that heavily damaged, you are unable to remove oxidation, and the paint is flat as you said, then go ahead and respray the caR if you can afford it. Before you decide for sure, why not take it to a reputable body shop and ask their opinion?

next, the amount of money you spend on the paint, to me, would determine what you want to use the car for.
DD: get a good CW but not the best since the car will be exposed to the elements.

If it bothers you that much than paint the car. Chances are your car isn't totally stock with low miles and has never cracked VTEC. Therefore, who cares if it is original paint. Would you rather have a nice looking R with new paint or a faded out, paint chipped car? Sooner or later my R will need a coat of paint. As long as Meguires is around, NH-0 touch up paint is readily avaliable and I have few hours in the garage. It will look nice for a while!
Is the paint itself that bad, or has the clearcoat simply been worn away? I'd bet re-clearing the whole car would make it look ten times better, and cost alot less than a whole respray.

in most cases yes, unfortunately NH-0 is a single stage paint.

If it is going to be in the garage most of the time and not being driven daily and you want a good looking car you can race and show than yes definitely repaint it.
