I see the charts for the gear ratios for tranny's. What do the numbers actually mean though? What's better higher numbers or lower number per gear? Thanks 4any help
Quite simply it works like this:
(Wheel RPM) = (Engine RPM)/((Gear Ratio)*(Final Drive Ratio))
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by rdeezy78 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What's better higher numbers or lower number per gear? Thanks 4any help
</TD></TR></TABLE>
It depends on what you intend to do. Ideally, you would have a CVT that would keep the engine at its horse power peak.
