What are the steps to cleaning an air filter?

What kind of air filter is it? the cone shaped? I've cleaned mine before with compressed air and just basically blasting away all the dust and dirt and S#&$

get the k & n filter charger kit it has all the stuff u need and directions. its like 30 bucks.

Yeah get the filter charger kit. The K&N needs to be oiled with the kit in order for it to filter properly.

Just a reminder....AEM now has new dry flow filters in there line ups instead of the orginal oily one.

my buddy just got an aem v2 and it came with a paper cone filter with specific instructions not to oil it.

****!! How do I know which one I have? I dont know if i should use oil or the aem solution ****.

If your current air filter is "redish" colored filter....that means you have to use the AEM or K&N Airfilter charger kit.

If your filter is "gray/paper colored" filter, then you have to find a AEM distributor that carry's the new cleaner for that filter.
