Default Type R Tranny Power

Hey guys, I am not sure if this should be asked here but my questions is, I just installed a Type R tranny (bought brand new from US dealer) and now I notice that my RPM is changed a lot from my GSR Tranny. If you're on 5th gear, how does the RPM go by as you travel....(like, in my GSR, at 60mph, itd be 3k, 70mph, 3.5k) basically went 500 every 10 miles....but now, in the Type R tranny, at 60, it's about 3.5k..is this normal? I'm just being a lil paranoid because I'll be travelling about 3500 miles this week and I want to make sure if I have done anyting wrong? THanx

LOL you should see what it's like with the 4.9 FD. What your experiencing is normal though.

the FD on a stock ITR tranny is 4.4, do the math.

But having your car rev higher on the highway does not really hurt anything, but might wear the motor slightly faster and use some more gas, but thing to worry about.

Enjoy the gear ratio

it might take a little to get used to. i`m running a 4.7 FD so i`m close to 5K rpm @ 80mph...but as long as ur motor is well lubed it should b fine.

i`d b happy to buy the tranny off of u tho

of course I knew but I didn't know it changed RPM...maybe I didn't think of all that. But it's like extra 300-400 rpm which isn't a bid deal...I'm not selling the tranny but if someone wants one, let me know, I can hook u up...I got mine for like $1665 shipped, brand new, straight from the dealer. They still have some left I believe....
also, it's not as smooth as I though...it's a lil hard to get into gears for some reason, my clutch and everything is brand new....???
