Default Follow along with project '91 civic DX HB:B16 swap to start, more to follow

My buddy just bought this '91 4spd DX HB a few weeks ago for a pretty good deal even though the motor blew the 2 week he had it. It actually happened 2 days after the XSi motor was ordered so it worked out pretty good all things considered.

The plans are to swap the 170hp B16 and ys1 tranny using hasport mounts and linkage and since this is his only car right now we are in a hurry and the budget is tight so a running install is the highest priority right now but once it's running we will be adding more aftermarket parts as time progresses. well here are the first pics of the progress so far, comments welcome and appreciated.

**Check out the hole in the block***

Is it Si??? he definetly needs one but it may take a month or so to get the cash up depending on asking price. He has really been eyeballing the SiR front end conversion to possibly go with but if a good Si front comes available he may take it.

Just to let you know that's not a DX..It's a STD..And you know you'll need DX/SI hubs or 90-93 integra hubs to work with the b-series axles..??

Well we got it running last weekend I just have not had time to get these pics posted yet. Getting her started was a pain because the instructions we had to start with where not right so we had to rewire it correctly and it fired right up.

I did not get a chance to take pics of the car outside the bay yet so those will be soon and also some better shots of the engine because these are not great.

Well he did just install my old '92 GS-R seats but since we work on diff. sides of town and he works days and I work nights it has been hard to get up for some pics. Good news is I should be getting a Job at Honda where he works this week (wish me luck) and then pics will be no problem. We are also in the process of locating an obd 1 ECU to convert over and also some Si interior to help set it off.

Well we did not even come close to having enough time to do that, we may one day but I still don't mind all the wires so much because when it's all cleaned up it looks extra detailed IMO. We may tuck the Fuse box or something but I don't know how extreme we will actually go, will post once more progress goes down or once I have pics of the GSR seats

I was finally able to shoot some outside pics of mike's HB, these aren't exactly great pics but these are really just for camparison reasons once he gets his new Si front end and paint job. Also you can see the '92 GS-R seats he installed, no pics were taken during the process but it did require cutting and welding the brackets to make them fit.

Next up?...................looking like suspension but only time and money will tell.

Looks good

I'm in pretty much the exact situation as your friend, only a few steps behind haha.

But how did you guys manage to get the gsr seats in? cutting, welding what?

If i shoot you a pm do you think you could clear some questions of mine up?

Thanks.
